Red Root Floater (Phyllanthus fluitans) is a beautiful floating plant prized for its vivid red roots and leaves that turn deep red under strong light. Its round, spade-shaped leaves spread across the water’s surface, providing shade and helping control algae by reducing excess light. Fast-growing and nutrient-hungry, it thrives in calm water with moderate to high light and benefits from added iron for richer coloration. Easy to propagate by daughter plants, it’s fish- and shrimp-safe while offering excellent cover for fry. A favorite for aquascapers, Red Root Floater adds striking color and texture to freshwater setups.
